Bible Festival Posts Concerts

The Mount Gretna Bible Festival will host concerts on upcoming Sundays at 7 p.m. in the historic Mount Gretna Tabernacle, Third Street and Glossbrenner Avenue, Mount Gretna. The venue is open-air, and a freewill offering will be received during each performance.

The Lancaster British Brass Band will perform on Aug. 2. The band consists of 28 instrumentalists from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey playing brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments.

The Jazz Ministers Big Band will be featured on Aug. 9. This group presents jazz numbers, standard Christian hymns, and gospel tunes.

On Aug. 16, the festival will host the Anthracite Marimba Ensemble. For over 20 years, this group has performed in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. Its repertoire includes a wide variety of music, from the Baroque era to the modern era.

The Susquehanna Chorale will make its traditional late-summer appearance on Aug. 23. The event will be the final Chorale concert of the group's founder and conductor, Linda L. Tedford.

The New Holland Band will present patriotic and spiritual music on Aug. 30. The band was formed in 1829.

A patriotic concert will be held on Sept. 6. It will feature pianist Michael Faircloth and the brass quintet Brassworks. This program is rescheduled from July 5, when Mount Gretna was without power for a few days.
