Benefit Auction to Support Clinic

The Clinic for Special Children (CSC), a nonprofit medical practice that provides affordable health care to children and adults with rare genetic disorders, will hold its 35th annual Lancaster County Benefit Auction on Saturday, June 20, at the Leola Produce Auction, 135 Brethren Church Road, Leola. The auction will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public. A breakfast buffet will open at 6:30 a.m.

The items to be auctioned include handmade quilts, handcrafted furniture, new bedroom suites, toys and collectibles, storage sheds, lawn furniture, crafts, farm supplies, and gift certificates. The event will also offer a silent auction with unique items for bids. A variety of food will be available, including barbecue chicken, pork sandwiches, subs, french fries, freshly made pies, doughnuts, whoopie pies, and ice cream.

The funds raised from the annual benefit auctions provide nearly half of the CSC's annual operating budget and allow the clinic to continue to provide affordable, specialized care to families facing rare genetic diseases. Each year, seven auctions across the country are held to support CSC. Since 1990, these auctions have raised close to $22 million to support the CSC's mission.
