"Battle At Chadds Ford" Event Set

Chadds Ford Historical Society (CFHS) will celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Brandywine on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The "Battle at Chadds Ford" event will be held on the grounds of CFHS at 1736 N. Creek Road, Chadds Ford.

In commemoration of the Battle of Brandywine, which occurred on Sept. 11, 1771, the event will include a battlefield encampment, military drills, and skirmishes. It will also feature a Colonial festival, Colonial craft demonstrations and children's activities, along with refreshments and live music. A series of lectures will be offered by historians throughout the event.

Separate admission fees have been set for adults and for children ages 7 to 17. CFHS members and children age 6 and under will be admitted for free. Parking will be offered on-site at no charge. For more information, call 610-388-7376 or visit http://www.chaddsfordhistory.org.
