Bands To Kick Off Concert Series

The Lampeter-Strasburg Community Band and Flipside Big Band will present the first in a series of free summer concerts sponsored by West Lampeter Township and Lancaster South Rotary Club on Sunday, June 12, at the Lampeter YMCA Amphitheater, 800 Village Road, Lancaster. The two-hour concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. The bands are directed by Howard Boots.

The Community Band's selections will include "Uncle Henry March"; "March and Procession of Bacchus"; "Harlem Nocturne," with a saxophone solo by Steve Giffin; music from "The Greatest Showman"; "Sing, Sing, Sing" featuring Boots; tunes from "The Music Man"; "Sway"; "Carry On Wayward Son"; "Godfather Theme"; and "Billboard March." Flipside Big Band's selections will include "Chattanooga Choo Choo," "Fever," "Mack the Knife," "Nice and Easy," "I've Got You Under My Skin," and "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen." Other selections will include "Brick House," "In the Mood," "Dat Dere," "Opus One," "Moten Swing," and "Elks Parade." Flipside vocals will be performed by Richard and Karen Taraborelli.
