Author Sets Novel In Lancaster County

Local author James Hugh Comey has set portions of "The Wild World," a post-apocalyptic novel for adults, in and around the Susquehanna Valley.

"The Wild World" is set 374 years in the future when a ruthless retail monarch rules Earth. A fierce librarian warrior and her massive war horse, descended from an Amish Belgian draft horse, must travel through Pennsylvania to unravel a riddle and a warning and save humanity.

Comey, a resident at Willow Valley Communities in Willow Street, is a retired educator and holds a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. His writing has been published in national and international journals, and more than 100,000 people have attended his plays. He was awarded two Silver Telly Awards for an adapted film and Parents' Choice Awards for two CDs, and he has been cited by the Pennsylvania Center for the Book.
