Atglen Library Posts Fall Programming

Atglen Public Library, 121 Main St., Atglen, will host fall programming for patrons of all ages.

Music & Movement and Story Time and Craft has returned in person. Music & Movement meets on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and is best for 2- and 3-year-olds. Story Time and Craft is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and is best for 4- and 5-year-olds. Siblings are welcome. Registration is required for all those who plan to attend, including family members. Charlotte "Chotty" Sprenkle will display her photographs of mushrooms in an exhibit titled "Amazing Mushrooms" during the month of September. Sprenkle will present a companion program, How I Became a Mushroom Maniac, on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. The program will explain how Sprenkle developed an obsession for photographing mushrooms; it is not about identifying edible fungi.

Frazier, a French bulldog, is the library's new PAWS for Reading therapy dog. He will be on hand at the library on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Patrons can register for a 15-minute session to read to Frazier between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

The Teen Book Club will discuss "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 4:15 p.m.

The Adult Book Club will discuss "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 pm.

Word Catching for Young Adults, which is open to youths age 16 and up, will continue to meet virtually on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. Participants discuss writing and reading, share ideas and tips, do writing prompts for fun and more. The program supports creative writers with inspiration, motivation and encouragement.
