"Twilight Pond Walk" workshop set

Penn State Extension will offer a "Twilight Pond Walk" workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the fishing pond at Masonic Village, Serpentine Road, Elizabethtown. This event is aimed at helping private pond owners and lake-based community organizations make informed management choices. Pond owners, residents of lake communities and local officials are especially invited to attend.

The workshop will feature speakers Kristen Koch and Jennifer Fetter, water resources educators with Penn State Extension. Topics will be basic pond plant identification, how to conduct basic pond water quality tests, how land uses and runoff can affect ponds, basic pond ecology and pond water testing. Time will be allotted for discussion and interaction.

Space is limited, so preregistration is required. For more information and to register by Monday, Aug. 14, visit https://extension.psu.edu/twilight-pond-walk. The fee includes a copy of the publication "Management of Fish Ponds in Pennsylvania."
