Summer Reading Program Activities Set

Moores Memorial Library, 9 W. Slokom Ave., Christiana, has announced special events in connection with the Summer Reading Program, which has the theme "Oceans of Possibilities." For more information, call the library at 610-593-6683 during library hours, which are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.

Presenters and activities will include Mlanjeni Magical Theater on Tuesday, June 21, at 6 p.m.; a drawing program for youths ages 10 to 18, presented by Keville A. Bowen on Wednesday, June 29, at 3 p.m.; magician Mike Rose on Monday, July 11, at 10 a.m.; "Talewise," a STEM program, on Tuesday, July 19, at 1:30 p.m.; Jesse Rothacker from Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary on Thursday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m.; "Little Dolphin and Echolocation" on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m.; "Tales of Keeping Our Community Safe," presented by Christiana Fire Company on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m.; and "Underwater Diving Expeditions From the Pacific Ocean" on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m. Also, the library will host outdoor movie nights on Friday, June 24, at 8:45 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 12, at 8:30 p.m.

A Royal Ball will take place at White Chimneys, 5117 Lincoln Highway, Gap, on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance; for more information, contact the library.

The Knit and Natter "Yarnie" Club will meet on Tuesdays, June 28, July 12, July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23, at 1:30 p.m. People of all skill levels, including beginners, are welcome.

LEGO Club will meet on Thursdays, June 23, July 14, July 28, Aug. 11, and Aug. 25, at 6 p.m., and members of the 2nd Saturday Sketch Club will gather on Saturdays, July 9 and Aug. 13, at 10 a.m.

The Summer Reading Program will end on Aug. 13. To be eligible for prizes, library patrons must turn in all materials by noon on this date.
