LSF Posts STEM Programs, Seeks Volunteers

Registration is open for Summer STEM Camps at the Lancaster Science Factory (LSF), 454 New Holland Ave., Lancaster. Twenty-five camps for children in kindergarten through grade eight will be offered, including new topics like "Discovering Dinosaurs" and "Air and Space."

The weeklong camps will take place between Monday, June 13, and Friday, Aug. 19. Campers may attend in the morning or afternoon, or they may pack a lunch and stay all day. There is a fee per child for each camp. Scholarships are available for families in need.

In addition, LSF will continue to offer hands-on STEM classes for children in kindergarten through grade eight. Children may sign up for a single class or an entire series. Classes are available on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

LSF is seeking volunteers age 16 and up to fill a variety of volunteer opportunities like interacting with visitors in the exhibit hall, leading science demonstrations at the Science Cafe, and even being a camp counselor. No science background is required. Active volunteers with at least two shifts per month can earn free tickets for service hours.
