Twin Valley High School Celebrates Homecoming
Luke Culbert and Emma Mae Jones were crowned king and queen, respectively, as part of homecoming festivities held at Twin Valley High School (TVHS).
The king and queen were crowned during halftime at the TVHS football game versus Wyomissing Area High School on Oct. 8. Members of the homecoming court were joined by their parents on the field during the ceremony.
Earlier in the day, a pep rally was held in the football stadium. In addition, students were able to attend "Kickback Before Kickoff," during which they enjoyed yard games and music just prior to the game. TVHS Mini-THON club members were also on hand to sell picnic food and beverages.
The annual homecoming dance, which took place outdoors on the stadium's turf field, concluded the celebration on Oct. 9.
In addition to Emma Mae, the homecoming queen candidates were Alyssa Green, Jaymee Ressel, Kailee Shreiner and Arden Wolfe. Homecoming king candidates, in addition to Luke, were Ryan Baylis, Justin Bolt, Dominic Caruso and Gavin Springer.
Emma Mae is the daughter of Ryan and Katie Jones of Mohnton. She is a member of FFA, the cross-country and track and field teams, the stage crew, orchestra and the German Honor Society. In her freshman year, she played a tombstone in the musical "The Addams Family." She plans to attend college to earn a degree in biology.
Alyssa is the daughter of Chad Green and Jessica Green of Honey Brook. She is team captain of the TVHS girls' volleyball team and is a member of FFA and the National Art Honor Society. She also plays club volleyball and the electric guitar. She plans to attend college to earn a degree in marine affairs.
Jaymee is the daughter of Dennis and Lisa Ressel of Morgantown. She is a member of the TVHS Mini-THON club, is assistant coach for the TVHS youth cheer teams and has been cheering for 11 years. She plans to attend Alvernia University and become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Kailee is the daughter of Doug and Tara Shreiner of Morgantown. She is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), ski club, TVHS varsity soccer team and club soccer. She has also done church mission work. She plans to attend college and advance to medical school with a goal of becoming a pediatric oncologist or a sports medicine doctor.
Arden is the daughter of Robert Wolfe and Janelle Wolfe of Morgantown. She is a member of NHS, Student Council and the track team. She plays the violin and has completed multiple internships. She will attend college to major in economics.
Luke is the son of Michael and Caroline Culbert of Morgantown. He is a member of the varsity soccer and lacrosse teams and NHS, and he is a class officer. He plans to attend the Coast Guard Academy and study marine and environmental sciences.
Ryan is the son of Thomas and Faye Baylis of Honey Brook. He is a member of the marching band, jazz band, concert band, orchestra, string quartet and chorus, as well as the NHS, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Technology Student Association (TSA) and Academic WorldQuest. He also practices karate. He plans to major in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
Justin is the son of Geoff Bolt and Allison Bolt of Birdsboro. He is a member of the stage crew, ski club, theater arts program, mountain biking team, school bowling team and the marching band and he participates in Boy Scouts. He plans to study computer engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
Dominic is the son of Dominic Caruso of Morgantown. He is a member of the football and lacrosse teams and LINK. He plans to pursue a degree in sports medicine and continue his football career.
Gavin is the son of Jason and Erica Springer of Morgantown. He is a member of the cross-country team, takes part in winter and spring track and is a member of the ski club and LINK. He plans to attend college to study psychology and continue his running career.
