Appell Center Sets Schedule

The Appell Center for the Performing Arts, 50 N. George St., York, recently announced a host of new performances for the 2021-22 season. Performances, including live shows, comedy, film, and more, are set for the Strand Theatre as well as the Capitol Theatre.

The season will include the pairing of guitarist Leo Kottke and Phish bassist Mike Gordon at the Strand Theatre; the 25th anniversary and farewell tour of "Rent"; a new immersive concert performance chronicling "The Life and Music of George Michael"; musical artist Sonia de Los Santos performing a bilingual and sensory-inclusive program; Broadway's Tony-nominated "Waitress" with original music by Sara Bareilles; the magic of Selena brought to life on stage with "Los Chicos Del 512: The Selena Experience"; and family shows, including the "Underwater Bubble Show" and "Madagascar the Musical." The season will also feature the York debut of R&B sensation Corinne Bailey Rae.

Patrons should note the Appell Center has added a proof of vaccine or negative COVID test policy at all events. The facilities continue to be sanitized before all performances, deep cleaning practices are in place, and the HVAC systems feature MERV 13 filtration and maximum fresh air circulation.
