Library Posts July Events

Eastern Lancaster County Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer a variety of activities to the public. All events and activities can be found at http://www.elancolibrary.org on the Calendar. Outdoor Toddler Thursdays will be offered to children ages 1 to 3 with an adult on Thursdays at 10:30 and 11 a.m. Outdoor Preschool Story Time, designed for children ages 3 to 6, will be held on Tuesdays at 10:30 and 11 a.m.

Dungeons and Dragons Club will be held via Zoom on Thursdays at 6 p.m. for youths ages 10 to 19. Teen SummerZine will be held via Zoom for those ages 12 to 19 at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 6 and 20.

July Take and Makes will be ready for pickup at the library on Monday, July 12, and must be picked up by 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 17. Early Literacy Packs are available to toddlers and preschoolers, and STEM on the GO! packets are designed for children in kindergarten and up. Registration ends on Sunday, July 4, at 11:59 p.m.

The Graphic Novel Book Club will meet via Zoom to discuss "El Deafo" by Cece Bell on Tuesday, July 13, at 6:30 p.m. The program is open to children ages 8 to 12.

Literature in the Garden with Lancaster 4-H, designed for individuals age 8 and older, will be held outdoors from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 19; Wednesday, July 21; and Friday, July 23. Participants should bring a blanket.

Hooks and Needles Yarn Craft Club will meet on the main floor of the library on Monday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. The Virtual Teen Book Club, open to students in grades seven to 12, will meet via Zoom at 1 p.m. on July 19.

The Virtual Teen Advisory Group will meet on Zoom at 1:30 p.m. on July 19, and students in grades seven to 12 are invited.

Jeff Boyer's Big Bubble Bonanza, an outdoor program for people of all ages, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on July 19. Attendees should bring a blanket, and children must remain with their families during the performance of comedy, music, and interactive bubble magic.

Adopt a Pet Reading Buddy will be held outdoors from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 26, and is open to individuals age 5 and older. Young readers may stop by during this time to adopt a reading buddy.

Dino Tales with Lancaster Parks and Recreation will be offered at New Holland Community Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 6. Attendees will learn about dinosaur shapes and features as adaptations that helped each dinosaur survive.
