Newport Church Plans Fall Fest

For the fourth year, Newport Church invites the community to its Fall Fest, to be held on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the church, 656 W. Newport Road, Elm. The festivities will run from 2 to 4 p.m. and will feature fun for people of all ages.

"Phredd from WJTL will be providing music and entertainment at 2:30 p.m.," said Leah Miller, Fall Fest team leader. Additional activities will include face painting, balloon art, a corn table, bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, yard games and a craft.

"Kids will also get a chance to check out a fire truck, and we'll finish the afternoon with a candy scramble at 3:45 p.m.," Miller said.

The afternoon will feature free food, and a prayer tent will be set up for anyone to come and receive prayer.

"Fall Fest is completely free, so come on out and join us," Miller remarked. "We'd love to have you and your family there."

The inspiration for Fall Fest was simple, Miller said.

"We wanted to find a fun and meaningful way to reach out to our community and create a place where families could come together, have fun and connect with one another," she said. "Fall Fest became our way of doing that."

It's also a way to introduce people to Newport Church beyond the special event.

"Fall Fest gives us an opportunity to open our doors and connect with people in our community in a fun and welcoming way," Miller shared. "We want families to know that Newport Church is a place where they can come, connect and experience the love of Christ. It is one way to show our community who Jesus is by being the church beyond our walls."

She hopes people will stop by for a few hours of fall fun.

"Come on out and enjoy a fun afternoon with your family and our community," she said. "You can expect lots of activities for kids, good food, music and games. It's a great opportunity to meet some new people, connect with the community and enjoy a free afternoon of fun activities."

Newport Church holds a worship service at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. A kids' ministry is offered during the sermon, about 10:15 a.m., for infants through sixth-graders.
