Fundraising Event to Help Service Dog Program

The second annual Pups on the Patio, benefiting United Disabilities Services (UDS) Service Dogs, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Fireside Tavern, 1500 Historic Drive, Strasburg. Members of the UDS team, including service dogs, will be on hand from 4 to 8 p.m.

The event is one of Fireside Tavern's monthly Community Donation Nights, which launched in June 2025 with the first Pups on the Patio. During the events, the restaurant donates 5% of total sales to a selected local organization. Additional customer donation opportunities are available throughout the week of each event.

The program has provided support to a wide range of local causes, including the Strasburg Borough Police Department, Power Packs Project, Strasburg Fire Company, Hospice & Community Care, Blessings of Hope, the Lancaster Conservancy, Strasburg-Heisler Library, Girls on the Run Lancaster-Lebanon, and Meals on Wheels, as well as a local family via the Ryan N. Smith RelentlesS Fund. It also includes a November collection for Toys for Tots.

Fireside Tavern is commited to creating meaningful experiences for both guests and staff members, with a mission centered on supporting the people who make Strasburg and Lancaster County special. Since Reese and Helen Harter took ownership in October 2024, they have focused on building a restaurant culture rooted in family, connection, and local generosity. In addition to Community Donation Nights, the business aids community organizations through direct monetary contributions when possible.
