Hempfield Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will hold a reflective Ash Wednesday worship service on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. The service will be held in the church sanctuary and will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

Ash Wednesday marks the start of the 40-day Lenten season, a time of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal leading up to Easter. The service will include Scripture; music; prayer; and the imposition of ashes, a historic Christian practice symbolizing repentance, humility, and the hope of renewal through Christ.

Child care will be available for children from birth to age 2 in the nursery. Additional child care for children ages 3 to 5 may be available with advance registration.
