Montessori Academy Holds Science Fair

Montessori Academy of Lancaster held its annual Elementary Science Fair on April 16. All elementary students were invited to participate in the event, which celebrates curiosity, discovery, and the spirit of scientific exploration.

The Elementary Science Fair encourages students to take an active role in scientific investigations by applying the Scientific Method through hands-on experimentation. Students design and conduct their own experiments, analyze the results, and present their findings to their families and classmates, and the school community. The goal of the event is to inspire confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning while strengthening each child's ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly and creatively.

During the fair, students are expected to explain their work, discuss their procedures, and answer questions from visitors. This interactive component aims to help students deepen their understanding while building public speaking and presentation skills.

Students also may explore one another's projects during the regular school day, allowing for peer learning, collaboration, and celebration of their collective achievements. Throughout the process, children are encouraged to take an active role in planning, experimentation, procedures, and visual presentation, ensuring that each project reflects their own thinking and creativity.
