Fire Company Posts Activities

The Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company has posted its upcoming events, including its annual turkey supper on Saturday, April 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Takeouts only will be available. Each meal will include roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, filling balls, glazed carrots, applesauce, a roll, dessert, and a drink.

All proceeds will go into the fire company's annual operating fund, which helps to cover essential expenses such as maintenance, training, emergency supplies, fuel, and protective gear for the firefighters. The fund also supports the purchase of new equipment. Most recently, the fire company acquired a new Kenworth T880/4-Guys Tanker, which carries 3,000 gallons of water.

The fire company will host an open house on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free, and the event will include demonstrations, activities, and free food. The fire company is located at 3290 Main St., Conestoga.

In addition, the organization partners with the American Red Cross to offer free smoke alarms with free installation to all Conestoga Township residents. To obtain smoke alarms, call 717-584-5649 and leave a message, or fill out a form at the fire prevention table at any of the fire company's events. A member of the installation team will reach out to set up an appointment. Nonresidents may obtain smoke alarms by calling the American Red Cross at 833-315-0882 or visiting http://www.redcross.org/local/pennsylvania/greater-pennsylvania.

The Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company is made up of approximately 25 men and women who are ready to respond to emergencies 24/7.
