Social Media Safety Event Set

A Social Media Safety and Parental Awareness Event will take place on Thursday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, 1640 Book Road, Lancaster. The program is sponsored by Sen. Scott Martin and will take place during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Presented by experts in law enforcement, child protection and student mental health, the event will include a panel discussion with experts on safe use of social media, gaming platforms, and other online communication; information on how to address cyberbullying, sextortion, and deepfakes; tips for communication between parents and children on online threats; and emerging trends. Additional exhibitors and experts will be present to provide information to parents and students.
