Award-winning vocalist Ava Preston and her trio will perform on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m. at Mickey's Black Box, 101 Rock Lititz Blvd., Lititz.

Preston, age 21, is known for her arrangements of jazz standards by George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and others. She is the winner of the 2026 Ella Fitzgerald International Jazz Vocal Competition. In addition, while earning her master's degree in jazz voice from Juilliard, she was a 12-time winner of the Student Music Award bestowed by DownBeat magazine.

The performance will be part of the concert series Fresh Takes on Jazz, now in its fourth season. An initiative of the Lancaster-based nonprofit Music For Everyone, Fresh Takes seeks to cultivate a new wave of jazz performers and listeners by spotlighting exceptional professional musicians ages 20 to 35 and by inspiring students and informing them about the music.
