Retired Educator to Speak About Hurricane Agnes

The Solanco Historical Society will hold a program on Saturday, April 18, at 1:30 p.m. at its archives building, 1932 Robert Fulton Highway (Route 222), Quarryville.

Robert Frick will present "Hurricane Agnes and the Susquehanna Valley." Frick served in the Lampeter-Strasburg School District for three years as a teacher and for 42 years as an administrator. The district's first assistant superintendent, he spent his last 15 years as superintendent of schools. Since retiring, he has been drawn into the world of American history. In addition to creating and presenting historical programs that are later rewritten as prose for publication, he serves as a guide for walking tours of historical sites in Lancaster.

The program is free and open to the public.
