Concert violinist Michael T. Jamanis and his mother, pianist Frances Veri, will present a concert, "From Lancaster to Vienna: A Central European Concert Tour," on Thursday, April 16. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke St., Lancaster.
The concert will preview the works that Jamanis and Veri will perform during a concert tour to Austria, Hungary, and Croatia at the end of April. During the tour, they will present a diverse program ranging from classical masterworks to contemporary compositions. The duo will perform at Vienna's Haus der Musik; a new concert hall near Zagreb, Croatia; and in Budapest, Hungary. Veri previously performed in Budapest at the Palace of the Performing Arts.
The preview program will feature works by Antonin Dvořak, Bela Bartok, Gabriel Faure, George Gershwin, and William Grant Still. It will also include selections from Richard Field's "Flight of Fancy," a six-movement suite written for Jamanis and Veri in 2024.
