GEARS will present Zumba Gold, a toned-down version of Zumba that utilizes a blend of Latin and international-style music along pop music for people age 16 and over. Classes will be held on Wednesdays, April 1 through May 27, from 6 to 6:45 p.m. at the GEARS Community Center gym, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown.

The instructor will be licensed Zumba Gold instructor Judy McMillen. Geared to the deconditioned person/beginner exerciser and active older adult, the class will focus on elements of cardio, balance, range of motion and coordination.

GEARS will also host a Summer Playground Program for children. Playground leaders will create safe, supervised and fun-filled environments with activities including sports, games, arts and crafts and nature activities.

Playground will run on Mondays through Fridays, June 15 through Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon with the exception of Friday, July 3. The program will be held at the Elizabethtown Community Park and Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, 996 E. High St., Elizabethtown.

 GEARS will also present its annual Eggstravaganza, featuring an Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny, on Saturday, March 28, at Elizabethtown Community Park, located off Mount Joy Street in Elizabethtown. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature egg hunts for people of all ages.

The egg hunt age groups and times are as follows: age 2 and under at 10:15 a.m., ages 3 to 6 at 10:30 a.m., ages 7 to 9 at 10:45 a.m. and ages 10 to 12 at 11:15 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., a senior citizen egg hunt will be held for anyone age 60 and up. The egg hunts will conclude with an adult hunt for people age 13 and up at 11:45 a.m.

There is a small fee due on the day of the event for the adult egg hunt, but egg hunts for all other age groups are free.
