It Is Time for Holiday Bazaars

Where can shoppers find homemade food and baked goods, a sale of crafts and flea market items, as well as an opportunity to win prizes all in one place? The answer is at local holiday bazaars and craft shows being presented by churches and organizations. A number of events have been planned locally.

St. Peter United Church of Christ (UCC), 1920 Ridge Road (Route 23), Knauertown, will hold a Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be crafts, vendors, a sale of baked goods, jams and jellies, a vintage corner and a flea market. St. John's Lutheran Church, 1035 Old River Road, Robeson Township, will hold a holiday bazaar on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Featured will be crafts, a chance auction, a white elephant sale, a sale of sandtart cookies and homemade soups. Harmony United Methodist Church (UMC), 740 Harmony Road, Morgantown, will hold a Christmas bazaar on Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature a sale of handmade gifts and crafts, hand-painted decorations, ornaments, wreaths and homemade baked goods. The Joanna Store food truck will be on-site, and Lorah's Handmade Chocolates will have its Candy Scamper. A drawing for an Amish-made quilt will take place at 2 p.m. Entrants do not need to be present to win. For more information, call 610-334-6430.

Brownback's UCC will hold its annual holiday bazaar on Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar, located in the church's fellowship hall, will offer attic treasures and collectibles, homemade baked goods, gently used books and seasonal decor and crafts. Lunch, including homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts, will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Brownback's UCC is located at 640 Ridge Road (Route 23), Spring City. The Totally Committed Youth Ministry (TCYM) at Moving Communities to Christ (MCC) Church will hold a Christmas bazaar on Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MCC's main campus, 4221 Main St. (Route 23), Elverson. More than 30 vendors will sell an assortment of items, including handcrafted gifts, jewelry, skin care products, food and sauces, ornaments and beauty accessories. Tel Hai Retirement Community will present a holiday craft bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the StoneCroft Center for Worship & Performing Arts, 4000 Tree Line Drive, Honey Brook. Home-based businesses and crafters will be on hand offering goods for sale such as knitted and woven items, wooden crafts, jewelry, stained glass, pottery and florals.
