Museum Slates Art Show

The American Helicopter Museum, 1220 American Blvd., West Chester, will present its first Art Show After Hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. Attendees can explore the museum after hours and interact with local artists. The evening will include refreshments and feature beverages from Artillery Brewing Company. The artists present at the event will include Kaity Lacy Dempsey, Jessie Husband, Mona Innaccone, Jackie Kane, Ryan Krauss, Pam McKee, Lily Petro, and Alix Ullery.

Dempsey runs Shelter Art Store, which aims to bring awareness to the issue of shelter animals being euthanized and advocate for better treatment for these animals. The store donates a percentage of every purchase to a Philadelphia-area rescue that provides medical treatment and behavioral rehabilitation to shelter animals.

Husband has been drawing and painting her entire life and has shown her paintings and screen-printed shirts at festivals and in galleries around Philadelphia. She is known for her beautifully illustrated maps of towns and cities, which highlight local landmarks and unique attractions, and her lyric illustrations, which are interpretations of music through art.

Innaccone has studied both fine and graphic arts and began her artistic career creating fashion layouts and sketches. She paints in acrylics and oils, sketches in colored pencils and charcoal, works in pastels, enjoys photographing nature, and currently loves watercolor. She is inspired by a Japanese aesthetic and enjoys painting cats, canines, and wildlife artwork, with a current focus on birds.

Kane is an artist and photographer who specializes in architectural photography and realistic paintings of various subjects, with an emphasis on fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Krauss is an illustrator and theatre maker who focuses on conceptual exploration and capturing the intimate moments of everyday life. His work includes oil paintings of everyday still lifes, prints of native plants, and emotive portraiture.

McKee is a painter who focuses on flowers and other aspects of nature. She uses plants to create dyed images on watercolor paper, which she paints over using a variety of mediums.

Petro is a ceramic artist who creates functional ceramic art, including mugs, cups, bowls, teapots, vases, and planters. She manages the ceramic studio at Chester County Art Association and teaches wheel throwing classes.

Ullery is the artist behind Sweetgum Arts Store based in Eagleville, with work including detailed wildlife art, vinyl animal stickers and keychains, and custom pet portraiture.

Museum members may attend the event for free, and tickets for nonmembers will be available for a fee. Access cards and library passes will not be accepted for this event.
