Senior Commons posts upcoming events

Senior Commons at Power Mil, 1775 Powder Mill Road, York, has announced two upcoming events.

"Get to Know York County: Archeology" will be offered on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. The program will be presented by Debbie Saylor, who is the curator of Indian Steps Museum in York County and Blue Rock Heritage in Lancaster County, and president of the Lower Susquehanna Archaeological Society.

Attendees will discover what artifacts survived to prove their existence, while they get an up-close look at some of the stone tools found in York County. They will also hear more about the Susquehannock tribe that moved to Pennsylvania in 1550 A.D.

To register, contact Dana Adams at 717-741-0961 or dadams@powdermill.com.

Senior Commons at Powder Mill will also hold an open house at its newly renovated and expanded memory care neighborhood on Saturday, March 2, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Attendees will be able to enjoy refreshments and enter into drawing to win prizes, including the "Pot of Gold." To register, call 717-741-0961 or email kgolden@powdermill.com.
