School aids local families

The Bear Creek School recently held giving tree and holiday food drive campaigns with the aim of bringing joy to 48 local families facing challenges.

The giving tree initiative involved collaboration among members of the school's faculty, staff and PTO, along with representatives of the Northwest Regional Police Department and St. Peter Church in Elizabethtown. Together, they provided gifts and support to families facing challenges during the holidays.

Simultaneously, the student-led food collection before the holiday break yielded 1,547 donated food items. These contributions were distributed to families in need.

The giving tree and holiday food drive programs aligned with the district's benefits-based accountability initiative's core pillar of Community Connections, exemplifying the school's commitment to positively impacting local communities. These endeavors sought not only to foster joy but also to strengthen the sense of unity and compassion within Bear Creek School and the surrounding communities.
