Cuddy named CEO of VROCP

Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania (VROCP) board of directors chair John Mallonee has announced that VROCP employee Cheryl Cuddy has stepped into the position vacated when longtime executive director Danette Blank retired. In addition to taking on the new role, Cuddy has been given the new title of chief executive officer (CEO). The selection was made following an extensive search and rigorous interviews with finalists.

Cuddy has worked for VROCP for 19 years. Her activities at the agency have included public awareness, community outreach, managing the Eye Clinic, overseeing the low vision program and Vision Rehab Center, and organizing three annual fundraising events: An Evening in the Shadows, Visions of Monte Carlo, and Vision Bowl.

She is looking forward to using her contributions to the successes of the agency to help her as she develops a vision for the future of the organization. "I have worked directly under Danette for 13 years, so I bring that experience as well as offering ideas of my own," Cuddy shared. "I look forward to building upon the decades of work of this agency while exploring additional service and business opportunities within our community."

Cuddy is a native of central Pennsylvania. She and her husband raised their children in the region, and they have deep civic, social, and cultural roots in Pennsylvania.

The mission of Vision Resources is to facilitate independence, enrich quality of life, and empower individuals who are visually impaired or otherwise disabled through prevention, employment, and educational awareness programs.
