Registration is open for the 5K and 1-mile fun run at the 31st annual Ben and Tim Day on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Hershey High School, 550 Homestead Road, Hershey. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the fun run at 10 a.m.

Cash awards for the first five places and prizes for the top three finishers in each age category will be awarded, along with many random prizes donated by area businesses. Participants age 12 and under in the fun run will receive goodie bags.

Registration completed before Wednesday, Aug. 24, will be discounted. To sign up, visit http://www.benandtimday.org.

Other highlights of Ben and Tim Day will include soccer clinics by Soccer Shots, a chicken barbecue, a silent auction, a car wash, and more.

Ben and Tim Day honors the memory of Ben Yupcavage and Tim Russell, Hershey High School athletes who were killed in an automobile accident in 1992. Their families established a memorial fund that awards educational scholarships to high school students as well as donations to local charities that benefit students.
