Lancaster Author Named Finalist

Author Libby Sternberg of Lancaster has been named a finalist for the Publishers Weekly Fiction Award for "Daisy," which is based on Daisy Buchanan, the lead female character from F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby." "Daisy," recently acquired by Bancroft, will be released in hardcover in September. It is currently available digitally.

Sternberg was also named a finalist for the Edgar Mystery Writers of America Award for "Uncovering Sadie's Secrets," as well as a Launch Pad Prose Top 50 Award for "Fire Me!" A romantic comedy, "Fire Me!" is in production by Fox and Red Hour, Ben Stiller's film company.

Sternberg's "Sloane Hall," based on Charlotte Brontë's classic "Jane Eyre," was featured in Huffington Post's 200th anniversary celebration of Brontë's birth.

Sternberg holds a master's degree in vocal performance from Peabody Conservatory of Music. She sang with numerous opera, choral and chamber companies in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., area. Sternberg also attended the summer American School of Music in Fontainebleau, France, under the direction of Nadia Boulanger.
