Walton Honored For Work In Scouting

Kerri Walton was presented with the National Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal by the Diocesan Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (DCCGSCF) on June 7. This award, created in 1980, recognizes meritorious contributions of adults who serve Catholic youths through Girl Scouts or Camp Fire. It recognizes those who play a role in youths' spiritual development within the context of these organizations. It is one of the highest honors that adult leaders in Catholic Scouting can receive.

Walton was nominated by a colleague in the DCCGSCF for her many years of promoting and executing Catholic Girl Scout programming. In addition to her roles with the Diocese of Harrisburg, Walton has been a volunteer with Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania for over 15 years, serving the Friendly Valley Service Unit as troop leader, council delegate and a member of various event committees.
