Lunch And Learn Planned

The Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum will hold its monthly "Lunch and Learn" webinar on Tuesday, July 5, at noon. Attendees should note the day change; Lunch and Learn webinars are usually held the first Monday of every month.

Gail Groves Scott of Health Policy Network will present "The Opioid Crisis, Illegal Drug Marketing, and Policy Gaps," wherein she will review the prosecution of opioid manufacturers for illegal marketing, from the 1990s to today. She was examine the question "What have these cases revealed about regulatory and policy weaknesses, and are there opportunities for change?"

A public health researcher and policy advocate based in Lancaster, Scott was formerly employed in the pharmaceutical industry. After leaving this industry, she spent three years at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, launching a program to educate pharmacists, physicians, and policymakers about substance use, harm reduction, addiction, and recovery.

The webinar is available by donation to the Lancaster Medical Heritage Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
