UCEA Sets Center's Open House

United Churches Elizabethtown Area (UCEA) will host an open house on Thursday, April 7, at 105 E. Washington St., Elizabethtown, to celebrate the expansion of the community social service center.

Construction on the two-story building started in the fall of 2020 and was completed in January 2022. The building houses various local social service agencies, including Elizabethtown Community Housing & Outreach Services (ECHOS) offices and the emergency shelter and Elizabethtown Area School District's Bear Bags program.

The celebration and tours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., and there will be an opportunity to meet the social service staff. A short program and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. Speakers to be featured include Derrick McDonald, UCEA president, and Brie Anderson, executive director for ECHOS. Local officials, funders, and community mobilizers will be present.
