Stream Cleanup Planned At Jaycee Park

The public is invited to participate in a stream cleanup in Jaycee Park, 1026 Edgemoor Court, Lancaster, on Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to noon. In the case of rain, the event will take place on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The cleanup, hosted by the Manheim Township Sustainability Committee, will take place along an unnamed tributary of the Conestoga River, including a forested area of the park that has accumulated significant litter.

Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, as they may get wet and be required to crawl through heavy brush. There could be contact with ticks and poison ivy. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided.

Participants will meet at the Homeland Drive underpass at Route 30, and they should park in the gravel driveway that is against the highway.
