Annual Garden Symposium Set

Penn State Master Gardeners of Lancaster County will host nationally known speakers Kirk Brown and Jessica Walliser for the 28th annual Shirley R. Wagner Garden Symposium. The program will be a virtual webinar event on Saturday, April 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This four-lecture program is suitable for both new and experienced gardeners growing flowers, vegetables, or fruits. Attendees will explore how to simplify their outdoor lifestyles and maximize garden design impact while minimizing their budgets. Topics will also include tips for reducing maintenance and watering chores, design solutions for hard-to-treat areas, Walliser's six-step pest control program using both integrated pest management and natural-care gardening techniques, and how to create a container garden.

Registration is required to receive the link to access the webinar. There is a cost to participate. Register at http://www.extension.psu.edu/garden-symposium or call Registration Services at 877-345-0691 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registrants will have access to the webinar recording and handouts for 30 days following the event. Door prizes will be mailed to winners after the program.

Penn State's Master Gardener program has been serving Lancaster County since 1988.
