The Mohler board of directors voted to increase the annual senior center contribution to $100 per person. This change is the first increase in over 10 years. The increase will take effect at the time of a member's renewal, and scholarship funds are available for those who are unable to contribute the full amount. For more information, contact Melissa at m.weigle@mohlercenter.com or the aforementioned phone number.

Mohler Center will collect adult-size, clean, new and used coats and blankets until Tuesday, March 1. Donations may be placed in the box in the vestibule. The items will be given to Helping the Harrisburg Family.

Appointments may now be made for AARP free tax assistance. To make an appointment, people must either be fully vaccinated or produce a negative PCR COVID test within 48 hours of the appointment, and they must wear a mask while in the building. They must also have had their taxes prepared by this program in the past five years. Appointments are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The Federal Trade Commission recently mailed a packet to all senior centers as part of the Pass It On campaign, which focuses on scams targeting seniors. The packet contains materials intended to help community members avoid scams. For more information about the campaign, visit http://www.ftc.gov/passiton.
