Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer programs to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person fee, and activities will take place at the Environmental Center in Lancaster County Central Park, 1 Nature's Way, Lancaster. A three-part series on Math in Nature will be offered to Junior Girl Scouts age 8 and older on Saturday, Feb. 12. The series will include Shapes in Nature, 9 to 10:30 a.m.; Numbers in Nature, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Design With Nature, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Girls should dress for the weather and bring a water bottle and nut-free snack if registering for all three programs.

A Shed Hunt for antlers that have fallen off deer will be offered to people of all ages on Sunday, Feb. 13, and Tuesday, Feb. 15. Both sessions will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants will learn about Pennsylvania's state mammal, the white-tailed deer.

TNT Science: Extracting DNA will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 15. Participants ages 11 to 17 will learn the basics of DNA, where it is found, its structure, and how it behaves. Young scientists will observe the DNA they extract from a half-cup of dried peas. Parents must sign a release waiver before dropping off their children.

A Full Moon Walk - Snow Moon for people of all ages will take place from Pavilion 11, 733 Williamson Road, Lancaster, on Wednesday, Feb. 16. Attendees will walk through the woods under the light of the full moon and enjoy the quiet of winter, the shadows of the trees, and some sights and sounds of nocturnal wildlife.

Native American Winters, for people of all ages, will take place on Thursday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 2 p.m. Attendees will learn how tribes in what is now central Pennsylvania thrived in winter. A traditional snack will be provided. Attendees must sign a liability waiver.
