The Lancaster Group of the Sierra Club will host its 2022 virtual Polar Bear 5K Trail Run/Hike Bring Your Dog (or another domestic pet) from Saturday, Jan. 15, through Monday, Jan. 31. Due to the pandemic, the event will take place virtually for the second year in a row.

Participants will be able to run, walk, or hike a 3.1-mile route or trail of their choice on their own or with their family and friends at their convenience. Participants may complete this activity at any time and location during the 17-day period.

Prizes will be awarded randomly for participation, speed, talent, and/or various other categories. Participants are encouraged to post pictures of themselves with their canine friends on Facebook and Instagram, with the hashtag #PB5K22.

Registrants are asked to abide by guidelines and protocols recommended by the CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health in effect the day they choose to participate, as well as to be aware of trail and environmental conditions.
