LDHS Student-Athletes Announce College Decisions

Five Lower Dauphin High School (LDHS) student-athletes announced their college decisions during a Letter of Intent Day ceremony in the gymnasium on Nov. 10.

Paige Bitting, the daughter of Tracy and Dave Bitting, is a four-year member and co-captain of the field hockey team, earning All-State first team honors. She is a 2020 USA Rise Junior National team member and was named one of the top 10 players in the Class of 2020 by Max Field Hockey. She also is a four-year member of the girls' lacrosse team and played basketball. She will continue her academic and field hockey careers at Duke University.

Olivia Cranston, the daughter of Allison and Scott Cranston, is a four-year varsity letter winner on the field hockey team. She will major in physical education at Assumption University and continue her athletic career.

Alexa Shaffer, the daughter of Derek and Maria Shaffer, is a four-year member and co-captain of the field hockey team, earning All-State first team honors. She is also a four-year member of the girls' lacrosse team. She will continue her academic and field hockey careers at Michigan State University, where she will major in nutritional science.

Emma Yeager, the daughter of Jack and Kira Yeager, is a four-year member of the field hockey team and is a team co-captain. She also is a four-year member of the girls' lacrosse team. She will attend Kent State University to continue her academic and field hockey careers.

Jamie Swartz, the daughter of Jill and Joel Swartz, is a four-year member of the girls' soccer team and also plays club soccer with Penn FC. A team captain for the Falcons, she earned All-State first team honors. She is also a four-year member of the girls' basketball team and the track and field team, where she holds the school record in the 200-meter dash. She will attend James Madison University to continue her academic and soccer careers.
