LSHS Plans Homecoming

Homecoming festivities will return to Lampeter-Strasburg High School (LSHS). On Thursday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m., the girls' powderpuff teams will go head to head on the football field, and the homecoming king will be crowned during halftime. On Friday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m., the homecoming football game against Ephrata will begin, and the homecoming queen will be announced during halftime. The homecoming dance will occur on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at LSHS.

The homecoming queen candidates are Mariah Beiler, Molly Bucher, Jenna Daveler, Leah Denlinger, Ella Horst, Ermine Jacques, Cassie Meck, and Brooke Smith. The homecoming king candidates are Grant Beiler, Payton Cunningham, Nick Del Grande, Owen Filson, Isaiah Parido, Andrew Reidenbaugh, Chad Royer, and Bennett Stoltzfus.

Mariah Beiler is the daughter of Dave and Keturah Beiler of Lancaster. She is vice president of Spanish Club, the secretary of chorus, and a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), Tri-M Music Honor Society, Student Council, Madrigals, and the spring musical cast. Mariah attends youth group at Keystone Church and takes vocal lessons at Wieand Vocal Studio. She plans to attend college to study clinical psychology.

Molly Bucher is the daughter of Coley and Lori Bucher of Lancaster. She is a member of Student Council, Varsity Club, Mini-THON, Inter-Club Council, and the varsity soccer team. Molly also plays soccer for PA Classics. She plans to attend college to study business.

Jenna Daveler is the daughter of Deen and Jo-Elle Daveler of Lampeter. She is a member of Student Council, Varsity Club, and the varsity soccer and basketball teams. Jenna plays soccer for PA Classics and volunteers at Ascension Lutheran Church. She plans to attend Old Dominion University to study sports medicine and play soccer.

Leah Denlinger is the daughter of Jim Denlinger and Jenn Peterson of Willow Street. She is a member of Student Council, Varsity Club, Ski and Snowboard Club, Pioneer Interact Club, and the varsity volleyball team. Leah is also involved with the Cheshire Pony Club, the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), and the Second Nature Farm Equestrian Riding Team. She plans to attend college to pursue a career that involves animals and to join her school's equestrian team.

Ella Horst is the daughter of Cliff and Roselle Horst of Lancaster. She is the senior representative to the L-S Board of School Directors and is a member of NHS, marching band, concert band, Madrigals, concert choir, full orchestra, and the varsity basketball team. Outside of school, Ella is part of the youth group and worship team at Strasburg Mennonite Church. She plans to attend college to study nursing and hopes to work in labor and delivery.

Ermine Jacques is the daughter of Renes and Josiane Jacques of Strasburg. She is senior class president, and a member of NHS, Pioneer Interact Club, and the varsity track and field team. Ermine is the secretary of her church's youth department. She plans to attend college and law school with the goal of becoming an attorney.

Cassie Meck is the daughter of Robert and Shannon Meck of Strasburg. She is president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, vice president of L-S Thespian Society, and secretary of Spanish Club. She is a member of NHS, the concert and jazz bands, Madrigals, Pioneer Interact Club, the spring musical cast, and the varsity softball team. Cassie is involved in Strasburg Mennonite Church and youth group. She plans to attend college to study Spanish and pursue missions work.

Brooke Smith is the daughter of Mark and Jennifer Smith of Lancaster. She is the treasurer of Tri-M Music Honor Society, the secretary of the L-S Thespian Society, and a co-treasurer of the Asian Cultures Club. She is a member of NHS, chorus, Madrigals, the spring musical cast, Student Council, Pioneer Interact Club, Varsity Club, Mini-THON, and the varsity volleyball team. Brooke attends youth group at Lancaster Church of the Brethren and takes voice lessons at Wieand Vocal Studio. She plans to attend college to study elementary education.

Grant Beiler is the son of Wayne and Maureen Beiler of Lancaster. He is a member of NHS, Pioneer Interact Club, band, chorus, and the varsity track and field team. He is also the senior class vice president. Outside school, he is a Boy Scout with Troop 393 and a member of the Keystone Church youth group. He plans to attend college to study finance or business, with law school possibly in his future.

Payton Cunningham is the son of Matt and Kara Cunningham of Willow Street. He is a member of Varsity Club and the varsity football team. Outside of school, Payton volunteers at the YMCA. He plans to attend college to study elementary education.

Nick Del Grande is the son of Steve and Heather Phenegar of Lancaster. He is a member of the varsity football and basketball teams. He plans to attend Coastal Carolina University to study sports management and play football.

Owen Filson is the son of Kelly Osborne of Lancaster. He is a member of the varsity basketball team.

Isaiah Parido is the son of Matt and Tracy Parido of Lancaster. He is a member of the Ski and Snowboard Club and plays for the varsity golf, basketball, and baseball teams. He plans to attend college, where he will continue his baseball career.

Andrew Reidenbaugh is the son of Robert and Sherry Reidenbaugh of Lancaster. He is a member of the varsity soccer, football, swimming, and tennis teams. Andrew is also a member of NHS, Varsity Club, Inter-Club Council, and band. Andrew plans to attend college to study psychology and Spanish and to play soccer. He hopes to then attend medical school to become a doctor.

Chad Royer is the son of Larry and Susan Royer of Strasburg. He is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, marching band, jazz band, full orchestra, tech crew, and the varsity tennis team. Chad has been named to the honor roll and was a Burrowes Scholar as a junior. He is involved in youth group and the worship team at his church. Chad plans to attend college to study production and entertainment technology with the goal of working in the music industry.

Bennett Stoltzfus is the son of Chris Stoltzfus and Jillian Pisani of Lancaster. He is the president of Varsity Club, a co-treasurer of Asian Cultures Club, and a Ski and Snowboard Club officer. He is also a member of NHS, Outdoor Club, and the varsity cross-country and track and field teams. Bennett plans to attend college to study computer science.
