PVHS Plans Homecoming

On Friday, Oct. 1, Pequea Valley High School (PVHS) will hold its annual homecoming celebration. The 2021 homecoming queen and king will be crowned during halftime of the varsity football game against ELCO (Eastern Lebanon County) High School, which will begin at 7 p.m. at the school stadium, 4033 E. Newport Road, Kinzers.

The 2020 king, Josh Jarvis, and queen, Alexandria Martelli, will crown the 2021 king and queen at the conclusion of the ceremony. If the 2020 king and queen cannot attend, crowning will be done by princess Elli Stoltzfus or PVHS Student Council officers Tre Rosa and Kianna Winey.

The five 2021 homecoming queen candidates are Emily Ammon, Caroline Fisher, Sierra Fisher, Celeste Huyard, and Julia Shaubach. The five 2021 homecoming king candidates are Sam Arena, Jamison Castor, Colton Mann, Dylan Ratjavong, and Regan Thomas.

Emily Ammon is the daughter of Bruce and Deanna Ammon of Gap. At school, she serves as senior class president, National Honor Society (NHS) president, and Student Council treasurer. She is a member of chorus, chamber singers, World Language Honor Society (WLHS), Learners Helping Learners, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). She has taken part in musicals, and she plays field hockey and softball. Outside school, she plays travel softball with the Coatesville Lady Steel, and she serves as a softball catching coach. She teaches first-grade CCD classes at Our Lady of Consolation Church. She is also involved in the church Christmas bazaar, the children's Christmas pageant, Operation Christmas Child, and the Thanksgiving food drive. Following graduation, she plans to attend Neumann University, where she hopes to play softball and eventually pursue a master's degree in forensic accounting.

Caroline Fisher is the daughter of Billy and Wilma Fisher of Kinzers. At school, she has been a member of concert choir, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and TRIBE. She plays soccer and basketball. Outside school, she attends Petra Church and plays indoor soccer at LANCO Field House and Spooky Nook. Following graduation, she plans to enter the mission field or attend Bible school.

Sierra Fisher is the daughter of Chad and Dawn Fisher of Gordonville. At school, she is a member of NHS, FCA, Link Crew, WLHS, chamber singers, and choir, and she plays soccer. Outside school, she attends Freedom Life Church, where she is a member of the youth group and serves in children's ministry. She plays travel soccer for Lanchester United. Following graduation, she plans to enter the mission field or attend Bible school.

Celeste Huyard is the daughter of Marlin and Freida Huyard of Narvon. At school, she is vice president of chamber singers and a member of Student Council and TRIBE. She is also a member of chorus and is involved in Stage 772, serving as vice president. She has taken part in both plays and musicals. Outside school, she attends Worship Center and participates at Cavod Academy. After graduation, she plans to join YWAM (Youth With A Mission).

Julia Shaubach is the daughter of Ryan and Heather Shaubach of Paradise. At school, Julia is president of the chorus and chamber singers, is involved in Stage 772, and has taken part in musicals. She is the singer for the school jazz band and a member of FFA. Outside school, she is a member of the worship team at Keystone Church, and she volunteers with Children's Miracle Network. After graduation, she plans to join the workforce.

Sam Arena is the son of Samuel Arena of Phoenixville and Lisa Hankes of Narvon. At school, he is a member of Student Council, and he plays soccer, basketball, and tennis. Following graduation, he plans to join the workforce.

Jamison Castor is the son of Mike and Jill Castor of Kinzers. At school, he is Student Council president and a member of choir and chamber singers. He plays soccer and tennis. Outside school, he is involved in children's ministry at Lancaster Alliance Church. Following graduation, he plans to attend college.

Colton Mann is the son of Chris Mann of Gap and Kim Mann of Willow Street. At school, he is a member of Student Council and president of Stage 772, and he has taken part in musicals. He is a member of chamber singers, chorus, astronomy club, and TRIBE. Outside school, he is developing his own coffee company. Following graduation, he hopes to purchase a food truck to expand his coffee business.

Dylan Ratjavong is the son of Sy and Jen Ratjavong of Gordonville. At school, he is a member of Student Council, captain of the soccer team, and a member of the tennis team. Outside school, he is a children's ministry teacher at Petra Church, and he plays club soccer for PA Classics. Following graduation, he plans to attend college.

Regan Thomas is the son of Kurt and Char Thomas of Gordonville. At school, he plays soccer and tennis. Outside school, he takes part in youth group at Freedom Life Church. Following graduation, he plans to attend Bible school.
