Located at 34 E. State St., Quarryville, Solid Rock Youth Ministries strives to earn trust through authentic relationships with youths so lives can be changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To accomplish this mission, Solid Rock offers several activities throughout the year, including after-school programs, art and drama programs, family fun events, and more.

Solid Rock's after-school programs will return on Monday, Sept. 27. These programs are free to students, and registration will remain open throughout the school year.

"We miss our students, and families and we're excited to start our school year programs," stated youth director Josh Rotz.

The elementary school schedule, for which students are grouped as kindergarteners through third-graders or as fourth- and fifth-graders, includes a snack, a group game, and a Bible lesson. Afterward, the students will either participate in a group activity or have free time to enjoy all the center has to offer. Activities will include pingpong, pool, foosball, crafts, board games, gaga, and more. The kindergarten through third-grade group will meet after school until 5:45 p.m. on Wednesdays, and the fourth- and fifth-graders will meet after school until 5:45 p.m. on Tuesdays. Solid Rock staff will pick up students after school at Quarryville Elementary School. If children attend a different school or are home-schooled, they can be dropped off at the center at 3:50 p.m.

"For some parents, these programs are helpful because they have other people who care about their kids and their development," said elementary program coordinator Luke Ragsdale.

The middle school program, for sixth- through eighth-graders, will offer a time for young people to come together and experience community, friendship, mentorship, and fun in a Christ-centered context. This program will feature group games, free time, and a Bible lesson, followed by a time of small group interaction with peers and Christian adults. There will also be a special event once a month, such as glow-in-the-dark dodgeball, Minute to Win It style games, movie nights, and hikes. The middle school program will meet Thursdays from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.

The high school program, for ninth- through 12th-graders, will engage students and provide them with opportunities to make friends, have fun, build mentoring relationships with volunteers, and either start or grow on their journey with Jesus. Once a month, there will be a special event, such as a corn maze, glow-in-the-dark dodgeball, miniature golf, movie night, and art/video game night. This program will meet on Mondays from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.

"Solid Rock is a safe and fun environment," said Rotz. "Students can come here and feel loved and accepted. That's the heart of Solid Rock."
