Environmental Center Posts Programs

The Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, has posted upcoming events. Pregistration is required by emailing governordick@hotmail.com or calling 717-964-3808. Callers should leave a name and phone number in case a program is canceled. All programs will begin at the environmental center.

Nature Journaling will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 10:30 a.m. Participants will learn about watercolors and drawing techniques. Attendees should bring their own journal, and color will be supplied. A fee applies.

Plants and Their Uses will take place on Sunday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. Attendees will talk a walk to identify edible and medicinal plants. There is a fee for the program.

On Friday, Aug. 20, at 10:30 a.m., children up to age 10 are invited to enjoy a story and activity as part of Summer Story Forest. There is a fee.

A Full Moon Hike will take place on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 7:45 p.m. Group size is limited, and participants must be registered. There is a fee for the program.

Golden Eagle Hikers will hike 2 to 3 miles on Sunday, Aug. 22, at 1:30 p.m. Hikers over age 50 are invited.
