Event Will Showcase Vehicles

United Zion Retirement Community (UZRC) will hold its annual Car and Motorcycle Cruise on Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 6 p.m. until dark. The event will occur at a new location this year, Lancaster Evangelical Free Church (LEFC), 419 Pierson Road, Lititz. All proceeds will support benevolent care at UZRC, which provides assistance should a resident's own resources become inadequate to cover the full cost of care.

This event is open to all vehicles, and organizers anticipate that more than 200 will be displayed. Goodie bags and dash plaques will be provided to the first 100 registered vehicles; plaques and certificates will be awarded to winning show vehicles by celebrity guest judges, including Lititz Mayor Tim Snyder. There is a suggested minimum donation to show a vehicle, with a discount for vehicles preregistered at http://www.uzrc.org. Show cars need to be parked by 5:45 p.m.

Lickity Split Ice Cream, Bricker's Famous French Fries and Johnny Boys' will be on hand offering dinner as well as sweet treats. Music will be provided by Roses Entertainment.

Admission is free to the public. Any changes, including those due to inclement weather, will be posted at the aforementioned website and on the "United Zion Retirement Community" page on Facebook. In the case of rain, the event will take place on Thursday, Aug. 19.
