Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer two events during the Fourth of July weekend. Programs are open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number. Attendees should meet at the Environmental Center.

Pond Scoop will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3. Individuals should meet at the Environmental Center to carpool to the event site, where they will investigate life in a pond. A fee applies.

Music on the Porch, a bluegrass jam, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 4. Attendees should bring lawn chairs.
