Tee Up At Tanglewood

For the past 19 years, Solanco Education Foundation (SEF) has provided students and teachers within the Solanco School District with funding for innovative, exciting, and creative educational programs and opportunities. SEF supports and enhances education in the Solanco School District by partnering with local residents, businesses, and organizations. Since its founding in 2002, SEF has awarded more than $110,000 in student scholarships, over 100 teacher venture grants, and more than $150,000 in educational improvement tax credit (EITC) funding.

On Friday, Aug. 6, SEF will host its annual golf tournament at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club, 653 Scotland Road, Quarryville. Proceeds will fund scholarships given to seniors who will continue their education beyond high school. This June, SEF awarded scholarships to the following members of the Solanco High School Class of 2021: Jenna Brown, Jade Eshelman, Dom Flatt, Sean Keller, Kayla McCauley, Deven Rapant, Faith Redcay, Anne Russell, Mylee Smith, James Sprout, and Morgan Whaley.

Registration for the golf tournament will begin at noon, and tee-off will occur at 1 p.m. in a four-person scramble format. The awarding of prizes will take place during dinner, which will be provided.

"I'm looking forward to seeing people I haven't seen in a while," said Tom Brackbill, president of SEF. "People should participate to support the work of the foundation."

Sponsorships are available. There will be same-day registration, but preregistration is encouraged. To preregister, visit https://solancoeducationfoundation.org or http://bit.ly/TanglewoodTee.
