IU13 Posts Summer Camps

Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU13) will offer both at-home and outdoor, in-person camps for students in grades one through 12 from mid-June through early August. At-home camps will be 90 minutes long.

At the virtual Camp Invention, students in grades one through six will work to enhance their problem-solving skills by building robots and participating in creative challenges with other campers. Discounts will be available until Wednesday, May 26.

For high school students who may be thinking about future careers, IU13 will offer a virtual Health Care Career Exploration Camp in partnership with Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences. Students will attend a live dissection, listen to a guest speaker in health care, and receive a personal health care kit. The deadline to register is Monday, May 24, and space is limited.

Other virtual programs will be The Incredible Mini-Sphero, for children in grades five to eight, focused on robotics, coding, and programming; Circus in Your Backyard, for children in grades four through seven, featuring historical information and circus skills; Summer Splash with CS Zero, where children in grades seven through nine can learn the basics of Python; and Heart Map - What Is Your Emotional Landscape? in which students in grades nine through 12 will learn fundamental cartographic drawing, assess their emotional landscape, and draw their heart map.

Three outdoor programs will be offered. Survival in the Wilderness - Challenge Accepted, for youths in grades five through eight, will include how to build a shelter, start a fire, and work together as a team. Art of Nature Journaling - Journaling and Drawing to Capture Nature at Its Best, for students entering grades four through eight and their parents and grandparents, will be held at Lancaster County Park's Pavilion 11 and will incorporate hiking, exploring, drawing, painting, and journaling. Creek Exploration - Crayfish, Water Pennies, Stoneflies, and More, for students entering grades four through eight and their parents and grandparents, will explore the science and fun of water; space is limited.
