Hempfield School District recently held its 11th annual district-wide food drive. Students, families, and staff members donated a total of 7,030 pounds of food, which was given to the Hempfield Area Food Pantry.

In December, Hempfield Area Food Pantry helped more than 177 local families comprising 700 individuals. The pantry operates solely by the work of volunteers from more than 10 churches in the Hempfield area.

J.K. Mechanical provided service vehicles to collect and transport donations from Hempfield schools to the pantry and Market Street Sports Group assisted in helping Hempfield to collect food donations on March 4.
