ELANCO Library Posts Activities

The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer in-person browsing and a variety of virtual programs, as well as an in-person book sale, to the community.

Face masks that cover the mouth and nose are required for entry to the library for everyone over age 2. There is currently no seating for quiet study, research, reading, or meetings, and public access computers are currently not available. All events and activities can be found on the event calendar at http://www.elancolibrary.org.

Individuals who are unable to wear a mask may utilize the no-contact self-pickup service as an alternative. For more details or to arrange for pickup, readers may call 717-354-0525.

The library will offer Take and Makes during April. The final day to register is Sunday, April 4, at 11:59 p.m. Pickup for Take and Makes will be held once per month. Items will become available on Monday, April 12, and they must be picked up by Saturday, April 17, at 4 p.m. Three programs will be offered: Toddler Story Time care packages for children ages 1 to 3, Preschool Story Time care packages for children ages 3 to 6, and STEM on the GO! for students in kindergarten and older. Registration is required by visiting the aforementioned website or calling the library. No-contact self-pickup is available by contacting Ms. Carla at cbarrows@elancolibrary.org.

Two story time programs will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on the library's Facebook page: Preschool Story Time on Tuesdays for children ages 3 to 6, and Toddler Thursdays on Thursdays for children ages 1 to 3.

Dungeons and Dragons Club, open to youths ages 10 to 19, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, April 1 to 29, via Zoom. Beginners are welcome. Contact cbarrows@elancolibrary.org to register or to obtain help with building a character sheet.

Animal Crossing with Ms. Carla will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays on Facebook Live and is designed for children age 10 and older.

The Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion will take place via Zoom on Monday, April 5, at 6:30 p.m. Adults are invited to discuss "The Stranger in the Woods" by Michael Finkel.

Disney Movie Trivia, a family event for people of all ages, will be held on Tuesday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. It will be livestreamed on Facebook.

The Friends of the ELANCO Library will hold their spring used book sale on Thursday, April 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the activity room on the second floor of the ELANCO Library. Most books will be nominally priced. Occupancy and visit length may be limited.

Hooks and Needles Craft Club will gather via Zoom on April 12 at 6:30 p.m. Interested readers may register on the library website or contact hsmith@elancolibrary.org for the Zoom invitation.

Book Talk Wednesday will take place on Wednesdays, April 14 and 28, at noon. Ms. Carla will feature new books and talk about them. Videos will be uploaded on the first and third Wednesdays of the month on Facebook and the library's YouTube channel.

The Buckhill Sleuths' Book Discussion, for adults, will occur on Monday, April 26, at 2 p.m. via Zoom. Participants will discuss "The Woman in the Window" by A.J. Finn.
