Hempfield High School seniors Colin W. Meldrum and Dillon P. Otto were recently recognized as 2021 National Merit Scholarship Finalists.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships, based on students' Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) scores. Meldrum and Otto were among the more than 1.5 million juniors who took the 2019 exam.

The highest-scoring entrants in each state were named Semifinalists, and a group of more than 15,000 students became Finalists. These students, including Meldrum and Otto, will now be considered for Merit Scholarships.
