Ephrata National Bank Announces Promotions

Ephrata National Bank recently announced the promotion of Randy Covington to senior vice president, information and technology (IT) officer, and Nick Klein to executive vice president, chief risk officer (CRO).

In his new role, Covington will oversee digital banking, deposit operations, the project management office, the IT help desk and the IT infrastructure teams for the bank. He will work closely with executive management to grow the bank by enhancing operational efficiencies, leveraging technology and instilling a culture of accountability to achieve key goals associated with the strategic plan.

Covington has more than 10 years of progressive leadership experience within the technology and banking operational fields. His titles have included commercial and card services manager, e-banking operations manager, information systems manager and most recently director of IT at Ephrata National Bank. Covington is a graduate of Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., where he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science. He resides in Douglassville.

In his new role, Klein will provide leadership in planning, development and administration of all risk and compliance programs, such as policies, practices and systems, that are necessary to perform banking activities.

Klein has more than 13 years of progressive banking and risk management experience. He held the position of associate national bank examiner with the office of the comptroller of the currency based in Philadelphia prior to joining Ephrata National Bank as assistant vice president, senior CRO.

Klein is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in finance with a minor in French. Additionally, he supports the community through his role as vice president of the South Central Pennsylvania Risk Management Association (RMA) Chapter, as well as through being an active board director for the Pennsylvania Bankers Public Affairs Committee (PaBPAC). Enthusiastic about working with youths in the community, he is the camp director and Hero Dash director at Pocono Plateau Camp in Cresco and director of youth ministry at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Ephrata. Klein resides in Manheim Township.
